Diamond Fork Trip - March 2013

I do a lot of fishing on Diamond Fork and Thistle, usually hitting those streams once a week. I like to get out after school as much as I can, and Diamond Fork and Thistle provide great fishing pretty close to home. Anyways, Thistle has been a finicky little stream as of late, but DF has yielded some good results.

This guy was a really nice 15.5" Brown, weighing in at nearly 2 pounds. Skinny, for a river fish even, but it's been cold lately and that't not too surprising. I've done really well catching fish here with a size 4 Panther Martin. I find a good hole, and cast the lure above into the rapids, and reel it about medium speed down through the slower and calmer water. Usually, they'll strike as soon as the lure gets into the calmer water.

DF has been really good some days, and absolutely empty on others. I've had more luck with spinners than I have with jigs or anything else on this river.

This river always looks pretty, ,no matter the day. This is one of my favorite places to fish around here in Utah County.
